Law of Parsimony

A problem solving principle, states that the simplest explanation for something is typically the most likely. Simple put any explanation that needs less effort is the most believable one. When it comes to research it’s also referred as Occam’s razor which states that when presented with competing hypotheses about the same prediction and both hypotheses have equal explanatory power, one should prefer the hypothesis that requires the fewest assumptions.
